Brighton Players celebrating during the match against Man United in Old Trafford.

Manchester United suffered a 3-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, marking another difficult day for the club and under-pressure manager Ruben Amorim.

The loss was Amorimโ€™s seventh in 15 matches since taking charge, and Unitedโ€™s fifth in their last eight games. Brighton dominated much of the encounter, with Yankuba Minteh opening the scoring within five minutes. Bruno Fernandes briefly restored parity from the penalty spot, converting United's only shot on target.

In the second half, Joao Pedro had a goal disallowed for a foul, but Brighton regained control when Kaoru Mitoma volleyed in on the hour mark. Georginio Rutter sealed the victory after capitalizing on a costly error by Andre Onana.

The defeat leaves Manchester United languishing in 13th place, prompting Amorim to describe his squad as "perhaps the worst team in Manchester Unitedโ€™s history" in his post-match comments.
