Kenya National Assembly Committees Elect New Leaders, Bringing Changes to Budget & Governance Oversight

A section of the newly constituted National Assembly committees today held elections to elect their chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons.

The Public Accounts Committee elected Butere MP, Tindi Mwale, as its chairperson and Garissa County Woman MP, Amina Udgoon, as Vice Chairperson.

The Budget and Appropriation Committee elected Alego Usonga MP, Sam Atandi as Chairperson, replacing Kiharu MP, Ndindi Nyoro. Endebes MP Robert Pukose was elected Vice Chairperson.

Nominated MP, Irene Mayeka, was elected unopposed as chairperson of the National Assembly Committee on Regional Integration while Fafi MP, Farah Yakub was elected vice chairperson.

Runyenjes MP, Eric Karemba is now the new chairperson of the Constitution Implementation Oversight Committee, replacing Githunguri MP, Gathoni Wamuchomba. Tiaty MP William Kamket was elected vice-chairperson.
