Postecoglou Confirms Bayern Munich Loanee's Future

French footballer, Mathys Tel, will join Tottenham Hotspur permanently once his loan from Bayern Munich concludes at the end of this season.

Manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed this ahead of tonight's second leg of the League Cup semifinal against Liverpool. Tel, who moved to Bayern from Stade Rennes in 2022 on a four-year contract, extended his deal until 2029 in March of last year. He has scored 16 goals over 83 appearances for Bayern, but has struggled to secure a regular starting spot. This season, Tel made 14 appearances for Bayern without finding the back of the net.

Postecoglou emphasized that the 19-year-old forward will play an important role for Spurs both this season and in the future, noting that Tel is eager to make a lasting impact on the team.
