Mumias Sugar Company farmers are set to receive the first-ever sugarcane bonus payout tomorrow.
The announcement was made, today, by President William Ruto during an Interdenominational Prayer service at Cheptais Boys High School in Bungoma County.
The president said the bonus payment stems from robust reforms spearheaded by his administration to revamp the sugar sector. He said Mumias sugar factory will, going forward, pay farmers and workers on time and pay bonuses every year.
The President commended sugar farmers for their contribution in increasing local sugar production.
