Teachers have expressed disappointment over delays in approvals to get medical attention under the Minet insurance scheme.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Kiambu County Secretary General Samuel Muiruri, says most teachers seeking medical services have had to endure painful ordeals before getting medical attention.

Muiruri who spoke during a Free Medical Camp organized by LIFECARE Hospital Kikuyu, at Ndenderu in Kiambu County said the long wait is hampering service delivery.

The Secretary-General appealed to the Teachers Service Commission to intervene concerning benefits paid out to the families of teachers who die in service.

Hundreds of teachers from KNUT and Kenya Women Teachers Association (KEWOTA) turned up for the Free Medical services offered by Orthopedics, Dental Services, and General Consultation Specialists.
